Th​e ​district component of the State Risk Project assesses the top five or six hazards in each of the emergency management (EM) districts. Participants from the District Emergency Management Committees and other relevant agencies attended the workshop series which were held in each regional centre. For the purpose of district work, the four metropolitan EM districts were combined to account for the common and intertwined geography.

The project began in 2015 and will be completed at the end of 2016. Risk reports, which summarise the risks from the assessed hazards in each district are being prepared and the full suite of reports, were released in May 2017.
