Disaster Recovery Assistance for recent flooding events

Three Western Australia Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements (WANDRRA) eligible disaster proclamation notifications have been activated so far this summer.  


The most recent was on 9 February for the tropical low and associated flooding that occurred in the Kimberley and East Pilbara regions from 29 to 31 January. The local governments currently subject to this proclamation are: Broome, Derby-West Kimberley, Wyndham-East Kimberley, Halls Creek and East Pilbara.​

A separate proclamation occurred on 23 January for rainfall following Tropical Cyclone Joyce. The local governments currently subject to that proclamation are: Dandaragan, Upper Gascoyne, Victoria Plains, Wongan-Ballidu, Moora, Gingin, York, Cunderdin, Quairading, Dalwallinu, Northam, Broome, Murchison, Meekatharra, Chapman Valley and Mundaring.

On 16 January, an activation occurred for Tropical Cyclone Hilda and associated heavy rainfall in Broome and West Kimberley. The Shire of Broome is the local government district currently subject to this proclamation.
