Emergency Management Australia Director General Mark Crosweller AFSM will be one of the keynote presenters at the 10th Australasian Natural Hazards Management Conference (ANHMC10), hosted by the Office of Emergency Management.

 

Natural Hazard conference a 'must attend event' on the emergency management calendar

Emergency Management Australia Director General Mark Crosweller AFSM and the Minister for Emergency Services the Hon. Francis Logan MLA will be among 20 eminent speakers featuring at the 10th Australasian Natural Hazards Management Conference (ANHMC10) taking place in Perth later this year. 


Hosted by the Office of Emergency Management (OEM), the event has attracted a diverse range of emergency management practitioners and researchers that will deliver addresses during the main two-day conference (31 October and 1 November 2017), focusing on the conference theme 'translating research into practice.'

Presenters from Australasia and beyond will present on a broad range of emergency management areas, including: emergency planning and response, resilience building, hazard risk, capability development, recovery, partnerships, community involvement and coordination. 

Agencies presenting at ANHMC10 will include DFES, Geoscience Australia, Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, GNS Science, NSW Rural Fire Service and Department of Health.

In addition to the two-day conference, there will also be:


  • work​shops

  • a fiel​​d trip
  • break-out networking and social events (including a reception and ice-breaker drinks) 
  • the 2017 Resilient Australia Awards ceremony

 
The OEM understands that key stakeholder groups are using ANHMC10 as a valuable opportunity to educate and upskill their staff who have a role in emergency management.
